Shifting Weight Wardrobe Fashion Tips

February 29th, 2012

There are days in a woman’s life when her clothes seem to be a bit too tight and the muffin top suddenly screams for attention. I usually gain about five pounds before getting a visit from Mother Nature. It seems that over the years my weight keeps shifting up and down about ten pounds. This constant weight shifting would result in me standing in a pile of clothes because nothing just seems top fit like it did two days ago. To spare myself this moment that seems to plunder my self-esteem, I realized that there are certain styles of clothes that seem to stretch with you as your body keeps tipping the scale.

Shirt Dress
These dresses are perfect at for a weight shifter. They typically do not hug the body and leave some room to spare. I have one that with a hemline just above the knees that I cinch in with a belt and wear with boots. The darker the color, the more forgiving it will be. This is not to say you can’t play around with lighter colors, just make sure the material is thick enough not reveal lumps and dimples. If you tend to be on a heavier side, try cinching your waist with a thicker belt, this will create an illusion of a smaller form.

Leggings
When you can’t seem to tuck in that muffin top into jeans, put on leggings. I have at least a dozen of leggings, they save me when my pants seem to be too tight. I wear them with long shirts, dresses and sweaters. Pair leggings with a cool t-shirts that doesn’t cling to the stomach, belt and short boots and you are styling. This is also a great fashion tip if you love to wear short dresses but feel insecure about your stems. There are great “jeggings” out there now as well. These are leggings that look like jeans. Many come with pockets and details as a pair of jeans would without the limiting inseam.

Shapewear
The right undergarments can help you suck in that tummy, pull up that bum and smooth out the dimples. Do not think that shapewear is designated just for your grandmother. It can do wonders for your body and give you a break from constantly sucking it in. Some shapewear creates an illusion of a smaller waist. There are many types out there. Play around and see what works best for you, I promise you the extra security will result in a more confident strut. » Read more: Shifting Weight Wardrobe Fashion Tips

Barbie Doll Designer, Christian Louboutin

February 28th, 2012

Christian Louboutin is a footwear designer from France famous for his brand of high-end women’s shoes launched in 1991.

Born January 7th, 1963, it didn’t take long for young Christian to take an interest in shoe design. By the time he started middle school, he would spend most of his free time sketching his most favorite designs.

His creative passion finally sparked one day when he entered a museum at the age of sixteen and read a sign that warned women not to scratch the floor with their heels. This imagery stayed with him for quite a while until he designed a shoe with compressed bucklers and soles to ensure that women could have high-end shoes and still be allowed to walk where they wanted.

Of note in his career are the red lacquered soles that have come to serve as his signature. Also, Christian Louboutin is said to be the herald for the return of the stiletto style heel back in the late 90′s. His goal was to make women look as beautiful as possible and have her legs look as long as he could.

To date, Louboutin has designed three Barbie dolls as well as an extensive set of footwear for each.

Louboutin’s first doll has a Parisian look from head to toe in an entirely black outfit. Her makeup is done in a sleek style reminiscent of Marylin Monroe. Barbie’s hair is a voluminous array of locks with a fiery red tint.. Finally, four pairs of shoes of Louboutin’s own design are included.

His second doll, titled Dolly Forever Barbie, has the same touch of style that Louboutin comes to symbolize. Barbie sports a khaki safari dress with a lace up front and a matching golden chain hip belt. Completing the look are a pair of bright pink thigh high fringe boots with his signature red soles. Another three pairs of Louboutin’s shoes are included to complete the set.

Anemone Barbie is the third doll from Louboutin’s series. In this design, Barbie sports a magnificent lime green gown with a purple bow that trails behind the dress. A glimmering silver bracelet, shoulder length red hair and a pair of lavender shoes complete her look. As he has done with his other Barbie dolls, three more pairs of Louboutin’s best shoes are included. » Read more: Barbie Doll Designer, Christian Louboutin
